Sir,

I have the honour to transmit for your consideration the enclosed copy of an application from the Captain Superintendent of Police for a House Allowance.

2.

The quarters formerly occupied by the Captain Superintendent of Police at the Central Police Station in Victoria are not available for that Officer because the quarters formerly occupied by the Deputy Superintendent of Police at the Water Police Station Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, are occupied by the additional Water Police Inspector, Inspector Riley and his family, pending the building of Married Quarters at the Water Police Station, for which provision was made in the Estimates for the current year.

At present Mr. Badeley is residing outside the Police Station and is drawing the house allowance of $60 per mensem appearing under Police Department "Other Charges" for house allowance for an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Mr. Wodehouse, the Assistant Superintendent referred to, is residing in the quarters at the Central Police Station formerly occupied by the Captain Superintendent of Police.
